Thank Goodness It’s First Friday

Downtown Bryan is full of things to do on a Friday night, and  First Fridays in Downtown Bryan have even more to offer. Every first Friday of the month Downtown comes alive with sights and sounds the locals bring together. There are art galleries where you can meet and talk with the artist at hand.  Musicians are on almost every block playing for a little cash, but mostly to have a lot of fun.  Almost all of the shops and restaurants are open to receive customers, or just the curious. If you’re not hungry and you don’t want to listen to music then make sure to browse through all the local stores. There are plenty of antique shops, not to mention a couple of great bars and coffee stops.

Another place to make sure and visit while you are in Downtown Bryan, first Friday or not, is the Grand Stafford Theater.  This theater always puts on great shows, some from around here and others from out of town.  First Friday shows are always great but don’t miss out on their other shows throughout the month.  Also do not worry about your wallet, because their shows are usually quite affordable (around 5 dollars).

If the Grand Stafford isn’t to your liking, then maybe on First Friday you can wander over to the Queen Theater for a quick tour and history of the theater itself.  They are working right now to restore the beautiful, historic theater, first built in 1924. They have plenty of fundraisers, and accept donations in order to raise more money for this admirable effort to make historic downtown even more beautiful.

All these things and many more you will have to go see for yourself are what make First Fridays a can’t miss event. If you do happen to miss this coming up one, don’t worry, there is always another to count on just around the corner. Bring your friends and family to this First Friday in Downtown Bryan.
