You see it at almost every sporting event you go to in town. Mom’s and dad’s dressing their kids up in Texas Aggie clothes from almost birth. A maroon shirt with “I’m a little aggie”, “Aggie Class of 2027” and many others. Sometimes this brainwashing works and sometimes it doesn’t. As the number of Aggie graduates increase, the number of kids of former students making their way back to Aggieland also increases. Some residents might not like it but a lot of us depend on those same kids for jobs. Just think of all the restaurants in town. I admit that there is probably and overkill when it comes to Mexican food, Chinese food and pizza but this is changing all the time. If you are not working in a restaurant directly you might have been part of the construction, part of the ongoing maintenance, delivered the signage, developed the advertising or even better, received the deposits from the night before. The list can go on. The bottom line is we all benefit from that mom or dad that successfully brainwashed their child to think that Texas A&M is the only place for them. Thanks and Gig’em.
