Nothing let’s you know that Fall is approaching like Friday night football, and nothing is better than an old fashion rivalry! Friday night, October 7th was the annual Bryan/College Station “Crosstown Showdown” rivalry between Bryan and A&M Consolidated High Schools! Every year, our local teams play at Kyle Field and between 10,000-20,000 B/CS residents show up at Kyle Field dressed in maroon or blue to root on our local gridiron boys!
This year was extremely entertaining as Bryan scored first for the first time in years and the score was tied 21-21 at the half! We enjoyed performances by the Bryan and Consol bands as well as a combined Shy-Anne and Bengal Belle dance performance to “Dynamite”. The second half was dominated by Consol who scored 4 more touchdowns to take the contest 49-21!
It is so nice to see our home towns come out to support our young men on the field as well as the cheerleaders, band, and dancers! We live in a community that is so rich in tradition and this annual matchup was a blast to be a part of! Can’t wait till next year…and maybe if we are lucky we will see a new rivalry form between the Rudder High Rangers and College Station High Cougars!
