Every 3 minutes, a woman in the US learns she has breast cancer. This effects all of us as we all have women we love. As you are more than likely aware, October is breast cancer awareness month, and the perfect time to get the word out to every woman you love that they need to perform a monthly breast self exam as well as schedule a mammogram every year after age 40. There are numerous events and shows of support going on this month. Earlier this month, was the Surviving and Thriving luncheon in B/CS, and many professional athletes have been donning pink to spread the word! My friend and Mary Kay Sales Director, Ashley Virnau, told me about something she and Mary Kay are doing to raise funds to go towards breast cancer research via the Mary Kay Ash Foundation. It's simple, all you do is lend your face, receive a complimentary facial, and a donation will be made to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation! Also, for every Party held within Ashley's unit, they will donate $20 to the Mary Kay Ash foundation! This is a win/win as you get to have an amazing facial while supporting something that...| Discussion: 1 Comment »
Home Alone — Do You Know Where Your Pet Is?

Cute Dog Found and Properly Identified! As real estate agents in Bryan/College Station, we often find ourselves observing many things in our community throughout the course of our day. Recently while finishing up photographing a new listing in Southwood Valley, I noticed a cute dog frolicking down the street. I noticed, too, that while he was obviously enjoying his new found freedom on a beautiful fall day, he was unattended by his owner. I finished up my photos, and drove down the street to find him. After a few blocks, there he was, still smiling, unaware he was straying far from home. Now my husband will tell you, I am a habitual pet rescuer by nature. So true to my form, I turned my vehicle around and pulled to the curb. This cute little yellow labrador came right over to greet me. I loaded him in my backseat and we pulled around the corner to a less busy street. Now, luckily, this dog had two tags on his collar. I was hopeful that I could find his owner soon. One tag was from Wellborn Road Veterinary Medical Center. It came complete with a phone number and 6-digit rabies vaccination number. This made it...| Discussion: 2 Comments »

Bryan/College Station Up and Coming Entrepreneurs!

I love selling homes in Bryan/College Station and all of the amazing things I get to do because of it! My daughter goes to school at Forest Ridge Elementary in College Station, and I was contacted by her GT teacher, Patty Chenault, who asked me if I would be willing to use my marketing expertise and be "hired" as a marketing consultant for the business they were creating! The children were starting a business from the ground up to see what all it takes to be a business owner! They met with Trey Hickman with Spirit of Texas Bank who explained to them about business loans, and then they asked for my marketing expertise to help them get the word out. My initial reaction was wow, what an amazing teacher to take on such a feat! Mrs. Chenault really wanted these children to learn every facet of owning a business, something a lot of us would have loved to have learned about at the age of 8 or even 28! She thought of everything from taste tests to signage to having her husband, owner of CGM homes, make an adorable portable lemonade stand! I told her that I would love to work with...| Discussion: Your Comments Please »
