Daycare report card?

Beautiful Baby in Bryan, Texas seeks daycare provider? Having been a mother now only 10 months, I believe I might have found the most difficult part of motherhood. CHILDCARE! It is the most stressful part of being a mother that I have found! I know, I know, as the days and months and years go by things will change and I will be wishing for a problem like this! But let me tell you something you already know! As parents, we can trust no one! So how do you find the right person to love and care for your children as you do? Where is Mary Poppins when you need her? I FINALLY, after months and months of searching, found a tool to end (more...)

Are There Haunted-Houses Here in BCS?

In my career as a Realtor I have sold hundreds of homes. A few of these properties in the Bryan, College-Station and surrounding area were homes that had a history; that is homes where previous occupants had died in the property. According to the law, if the house is considered a Notorious House, well known for a death or for being Haunted, it does have to be disclosed. However, if a death occurs on the property and it is not a caused by natural causes, suicide or an accident unrelated to the condition of the property it does not have to be disclosed. Often, when a Realtor sell a home, we have no idea if a death has occurred on the property or not. If you are a Buyer and concerned about that sort of thing, the best way (more...)

Easterwood Airport: Is the Convenience Worth the Potential Delay?

Easterwood Airport is the only airport in the area, and it is owned and operated by Texas A&M University. It provides both commercial and general aviation services. When you are headed out of town from Easterwood, your choices are American Airlines or Continental, and currently approximately 85,000 passengers choose one or the other each year. When you depart from Easterwood, your next stop is either Dallas or Houston and the cost will be at least $100.00 and will theoretically take you a little over an hours time. A drive to Dallas, in comparison and considering only minimal traffic, is approximately a 4 hours trip, and you are looking at (more...)

Aggie Brainwashing Starts Early

You see it at almost every sporting event you go to in town. Mom's and dad's dressing their kids up in Texas Aggie clothes from almost birth. A maroon shirt with "I'm a little aggie", "Aggie Class of 2027" and many others. Sometimes this brainwashing works and sometimes it doesn't. As the number of Aggie graduates increase, the number of kids of former students making their way back to Aggieland also increases. Some residents might not like it but a lot of us depend on those same kids for jobs. Just think of all the restaurants in town. I admit that there is probably and overkill when it comes to Mexican food, Chinese food and pizza but this is changing all the time. If you are not working in a restaurant directly you might have been part of the construction, part of the ongoing maintenance, delivered the signage, developed the advertising or even better, received the deposits from the night before. The list can go on. The bottom line is we all benefit from that mom or dad that successfully brainwashed their child to think that Texas A&M is the only place for them. Thanks and Gig'em.

A Peanut Allergic Child, Do you Really Know what that Means?

Many people have heard the phrase "Peanut Allergy" but few understand exactly what it means to have a peanut-allergic child, and even fewer see the need to pay attention or care about Peanut Allergy when neither they themselves nor their own children have a problem with peanuts. I did not think twice about food allergy, much less peanut allergy, until both my children were diagnosed with (more...)
